Missouri Association of Rural Education Scholarship
Postmark Deadline: March 13, 2024 and they need to be mailed!
Multiple $750 scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a career in education. There is an additional scholarship available to college students entering their junior year so keep this one in mind for the future.

Multiple $750 scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a career in education. There is an additional scholarship available to college students entering their junior year so keep this one in mind for the future.
- An essay should be provided describing the applicant’s connection to and interest in rural Missouri, and why they want to go into a teacher education program and teach in a rural community. This essay should be no more than two pages, double-spaced.
- Applicants must also provide personal recommendations from one official from their home high school and from two current or previous high school instructors. These recommendations should include comments on the following:
- Leadership ability
- Scholastic achievement
- Dependability
- Ability to relate to students and faculty
- Potential for success as a rural teacher
- Copy of their high school transcript is required with the application.
- Proof of acceptance to a Missouri college or university.
The application form includes such items as:
- What is the degree of your financial need?
- How are you funding your education?
- What other scholarships have you been granted?
- What is your major area of course study?
- In what activities have you participated while in school? (Clubs, student government, sports, volunteerism, etc.) What leadership roles have you had within these various activities?

Charles E. Kruse Scholarship
Deadline: March 15, 2024
The Charles E. Kruse Scholarship was established to honor this outstanding agricultural leader. Mr. Kruse, a 4th generation farmer from Stoddard County, served in leadership roles throughout his career including President of the Missouri Farm Bureau from 1992-2010. He also served as Director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture and Chief Executive Officer for the North American Equipment Dealers Association.
Recipients must be Missouri residents and they, their parent(s), or guardians must hold a current Missouri Farm Bureau membership. They also must be a high school senior enrolling in a 4-year college or university with a declared major in an agricultural field and enrolled in the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship is awarded.

Missouri Credit Union Scholarship

Each year, Missouri Credit Union awards sixteen $2,500 scholarships for graduating high school seniors who are members of Missouri Credit Union or whose parents are members. Students planning to attend a college, university, or post-secondary technical school, such as State Technical College in Linn, are eligible to apply.
MCU names its scholarships in memory of Alan T. Busby, Anthony W. Lampe, Pauline “Pat” Miles, Harold “Hal” G. Virgen, Brenda Fasken, Dr. David West, and Charlie Touzeau, CPA. Each one made outstanding contributions to MCU’s Board of Directors during their lifetime. Since 1993, Missouri Credit Union has awarded more than $700,000 in scholarships.
High school seniors graduating in the spring of 2024 are eligible. The recipients will receive the scholarship funds for use toward the four-year college or university of their choice or a two-year technical school of their choice.

Columbia Community Band "Keith House" Memorial Scholarship

The Columbia Community Band Keith House Memorial Scholarship Award is a $1,500 scholarship awarded to a high school senior band member who must be a resident of Boone or Howard Counties, is planning to pursue a degree at a four-year college, and is planning to participate in at least one band-related ensemble during their freshman year of college. The student’s major instrument must be a concert band instrument.
This $1500 scholarship, which honors former Columbia Community Band music director Keith E. House, was created to support excellence in the instrumental music tradition. Professor House was a teacher and conductor who spent part of his professional career at the Swinney Conservatory at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri. He is remembered as an inspiring professional who shaped the careers of many top-notch
musicians and public-school music directors.

Missouri Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture awards four $500 scholarships annually to students pursuing a degree or appropriate certification in fields related to and supportive of agriculture.
This includes but is not limited to: 1) Heavy Equipment Operations; 2) Electronics; 3) Welding; and 4) Diesel and Farm Machinery Repair.
All applicants or their parents or guardians must hold an active Missouri Farm Bureau membership, must be enrolled as a full-time student, must be enrolled for the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship is awarded, and must be pursuing an associate of applied science degree or certification in a trade related to agriculture as listed above.

This $1,500 scholarship is designed for post-secondary education support to students who have been treated at Women's and Children's Hospital in Columbia, MO for a sustained period of time in the hematology/oncology, pulmonology, endocrinology, neurology, or rheumatology divisions. Applicants must be a high school student who has been previously diagnosed with a life threatening or chronic condition. Any major may apply and recipients may use it for college or technical school.

Opaa! Kenneth L. Short Memorial Scholarship

The Opaa! Kenneth L Short Memorial Scholarship (“Scholarship”) will annually award five renewable $1,000 scholarships to students who are children and/or grand children to employees of Opaa! Food Management, Inc. This scholarship is renewable each year for a total of $4,000.

The Opaa! Kenneth L Short Memorial Scholarship (“Scholarship”) will annually award five renewable $1,000 scholarships to students who are children and/or grand children to employees of Opaa! Food Management, Inc. This scholarship is renewable each year for a total of $4,000.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- be an Opaa! Food Service Inc. employee, child of an employee, or grandchild or an employee who has been employed by Opaa! Food Service Inc. at least one year as of the scholarship application deadline.
- plan to pursue a career in the food service/hospitality industry.
- plan to pursue an Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Certificate.
- have unmet financial need at the school they plan to attend.
- plan to enroll full time in a nonprofit, accredited program, college or university
Shelter Insurance Foundation - Agents Scholarship Program

The Shelter Insurance Foundation Agents Scholarship Program annually awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in communities with a Shelter Mutual Insurance Company agent participating in the program.

The Shelter Insurance Foundation Agents Scholarship Program annually awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in communities with a Shelter Mutual Insurance Company agent participating in the program.
The highlights of the program are:
- $1500 scholarship
- Scholarship will be paid directly to any accredited college, university, or trade/technical school to apply towards tuition, fees, books, and on-campus housing charges.
- Selected by a committee and the committee will consider the applicants' scholastic achievement, participation and leadership in school and community activities, citizenship, moral character, educational goals, and financial need.

Columbia EDP Center Scholarship

Columbia EDP Center, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of a scholarship essay contest to be awarded once yearly for the fall academic semester. Columbia EDP will select and award each winner a one-time minimum $500 (USD) scholarship to be used towards tuition, board, or any other educational expenses. The team at EDP is committed to supporting area students in their educational path towards excellence.
Who is eligible:
To be eligible, applicants must be graduating high school seniors who reside in Missouri and intend to continue their education at a 2- or 4-year college or university. Applicants must also have a connection to Columbia EDP. For example, they can be the children of EDP clients or EDP clients’ employees’ children.
How to apply:
Any student who fits the eligibility requirements listed above can apply for the Columbia EDP Scholarship. To be considered for the scholarship, students need to:

AGA Mid-Missouri Chapter is a professional association of more than 100 individuals. Members include accountants, auditors, budget analysts, data processors, finance directors, procurement, IT and system designers. AGA serves its members by providing quality educational programs, encouraging professional development and certification while serving as an advocate for the profession. The AGA provides a certification program and the Certified Government Financial Manager designation. Skip Eno was a founding member of the Mid-MO AGA Chapter, serving the local chapter and National level for over 40 years.
Scholarship Purchase: To extend scholarship assistance to students enrolling full-time in a college/ university in a Bachelors degree program in the State of Missouri with the intent to pursue a degree in a business related field of study.
Award: The Association will award to one individual a $250 scholarship jointly to the student and the college/university of their choice.
Scoring Factors:
